Nintendo Switch will also run games from decades ago

There are a few months before the official launch of Nintendo Switch, but the new console promises to be very interesting in terms of games available.

Nintendo Switch, the latest Japanese console will be launched on March 3 at the price of $300. Hoping its transformation into a major success, Nintendo is trying to bring the new platform a bushy series of old and new games. Most important franchises from the company portfolio will come back and will try to convince fans of Mario and Zelda that investing in the new console is justified.

An information that we didn't know until a few days ago is that a number of classic games from Neo Geo era will be also available for Nintendo Switch. They are part of the collection of Japanese developer, Hamster Corporation and will be released in stages. The first will be launched in March simultaneously with the console and will be named King of Fighters '98.

The other classic games that you can expect to experience on Nintendo Switch are Waku Waku 7, Shock Troopers, World Heroes Perfect and Metal Slug 3. Mostly, this significant effort to make the old games compatible with the new console aims to the delight of nostalgic players.

On the same idea, those who want to recreate the experience of games on TV tubes from the 90s can activate a function to restore the original quality of a gaming session. That means you will see a significant image noise, the resolution of textures will be very low and you can even expect fleas on the screen. The players will be able to adjust the difficulty of these classic games and, optionally, will be able to compare their performance with other players around the globe.

It is worth noting that Nintendo Switch will allow those interested to play online for free only until the autumn. At the time, they will introduce a system similar to Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus for a monthly fee.
